The wider Trade Centre Roundabout project

According to RTA's contract announcement (27 October 2024), the project is worth AED 696.414 million and consists of five bridges totalling about 5,000 m, plus converting the roundabout into an at-grade intersection.

As of the February 2026 announcement, three bridges had opened. The remaining two (from Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Majles Street towards 2nd December Street) were scheduled to open in October. The 8 October post did not mention these two bridges or when the whole project will be finished.

What to do as a driver

  • Follow the signals and lane signs: Don't go in with roundabout habits. Lane assignments may also have changed.
  • Allow extra time for the first few days: Leaving a little earlier helps until you're used to it.
  • Check RTA for updates: Openings of the remaining bridges will be announced on RTA's news page and its official X account.
